Can we talk about something a lot of us feel but rarely say out loud?

Motherhood can be lonely.

You might be surrounded by people all day, your kids, your husband, your neighbors, and still feel invisible. Maybe you scroll past photos of women laughing together at brunch and feel a quiet ache. Maybe it’s been months, or even years, since you had a truly deep conversation with a friend. And maybe you’ve caught yourself wondering, What happened to my friendships? Am I the problem?

Friend, you’re not the only one. And you’re not doing friendship wrong.

Your life has changed in deep ways. Your time, your energy, and your priorities have all been rearranged by love and by the calling of motherhood. So of course friendship looks different now. The real question isn’t why friendship doesn’t work the way it used to. It’s what healthy, meaningful friendship looks like for who you are right now.

In this episode, I’m sharing four honest truths about friendship as a mom:

  • You don’t have the same capacity anymore, and that’s not a failure. Even Jesus had a crowd, the twelve, and an inner circle of three.
  • Not every friendship is meant to continue into every season. Paul and Barnabas parted ways, and both kept bearing fruit.
  • Intentionality isn’t optional anymore. Friendship rarely just happens in this season. Sometimes we have to send the first text.
  • God cares about your loneliness more than you think. “It is not good for man to be alone” was spoken before the fall, in a perfect garden.

This conversation is for every mom: the brand-new mom, the homeschool mom with no time to herself, the mom of teens, and the mom whose kids are grown and whose friendships aren’t quite what they used to be.

You don’t need ten deep friendships. One authentic, life-giving friendship, where you can be fully yourself, is worth every awkward, vulnerable step it takes to build it.
