Write for the Café
Got a story that belongs at this table?

We're building our table of writers one honest voice at a time.
Tone
Warm, honest, and conversational — like you're talking to a friend over coffee, not writing a sermon or a polished magazine essay. We'd rather read something real and a little rough around the edges than something that sounds like everyone else.
Length
600–1,200 words is the sweet spot. Long enough to go somewhere, short enough that a busy mom can read it in one sitting.
Topics We Love
- Faith in the messy, ordinary moments — not just the mountaintop ones
- Motherhood: the exhaustion, the joy, the identity shifts, the guilt, the grace
- Marriage, divorce, friendship, workplace relationships and the seasons that test them
- Grief, waiting, and unanswered prayers
- Small wins and the stuff nobody tells you
What To Include In Your Pitch
A couple sentences about who you are, and one clear idea — a sentence or two is plenty, we're not expecting an outline. If you've got a rough draft already, even better, but it's not required. Just follow the pitch form as you guides you through, and you'll be fine.
What we're not looking for:
Preachy takes, political commentary, or anything that reads like a product pitch in disguise.

Zoe is our Social Media Manager — and honestly, not new to the role. She's been creating content and running social media for Faith Media, the family business this café grew out of, since she was a teenager (yes, this really is a family affair: Zoe is Demetria's daughter). She's also a video editor at heart, having produced content for her high school's video club, and knows how to make a caption feel personal instead of polished-to-death. Zoe is a Communications major at the University of San Francisco. When she's not behind a screen, you'll find her curled up with a book, out at a concert, catching up with friends, or sipping a good matcha.

Demetria is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Christian Moms Café, bringing over two decades in digital media and podcasting to a space built on grace over guilt. Beyond the cafe, she coaches podcasters through her agency, Soul Podcasting Collective, and teaches piano and voice lessons over Zoom. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and their Shih Tzu, while her two adult daughters are off building their own lives — one still away at college. In her spare time, you'll find her writing songs, leading worship at church, holed up in a San Francisco café with a good book, or hiking the foggy hills of the East Bay.
